J. Gary Pretlow is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 89. He was first elected to the chamber in 1992. He previously represented District 87 in the New York State Assembly from 2003 to 2013 and District 84 in the Assembly from 1993 to 2002. J. Gary Pretlow is currently the Chair of the Racing and Wagering Committee and has assisted in legalizing Fantasy Sports operations and Mobile Sports Betting in the state of New York. Also, Assemblyman Pretlow is the current Chair of the Westchester Delegation, which consists of Assembly members that represent various assembly districts throughout Westchester.

Feeding Westchester Facility Visit- November 14th 2024
the Assemblyman had the privilege of touring the Feeding Westchester facility in Elmsford, New York. He was alongside his colleagues from the New York State Senate and Assembly representing Westchester. Feeding Westchester is making a significant impact in addressing food insecurity across the county. Together with his colleagues, they are committed to partnering with them and other stakeholders to support their vital efforts in combating food insecurity throughout our state.
Stood in Solidarity With The Haitian Community- September 27th, 2024
Assemblyman Pretlow participated in an event at Launching Pad Church in Mount Vernon, where he addressed issues of injustice and prejudice, standing in solidarity with the Haitian community and his colleagues to oppose hate and discrimination.
The Legislative Pace- November 17th, 2024
The assemblyman shared this year’s Legislative Pace event, held in partnership with Yonkers Raceway. it was a great success. It was wonderful to see State legislators join the competition, as the Assemblyman stepped back from racing this time. Congratulations to the winners who took part.
Untermyer Gardens Conservancy Visit- August 19th, 2024
Assemblyman Pretlow visited Untermyer Gardens Conservancy, where he was given a guided tour by Stephen F. Byrns, the Conservancy's President. During the visit, Mr. Byrns showcased the various structures and areas of the gardens while sharing details about ongoing projects and future plans for the Conservancy.
